Test Valley Borough Council is certainly making an impression. You might be surprised that, in this age of austerity, our Corporate Plan is themed around “Investing in Test Valley”. Our ambition to be an investing Council is about more than money – it is about devoting our energy, skills, and resources to achieve the best results for our residents and communities across the borough.
We were a finalist in the MJ Awards Local Authority of the Year category and we think the judge’s comments speak for themselves:
“Test Valley’s submission demonstrates it is pushing the boundaries by going beyond the traditional remit of a district council to deliver innovative solutions against its ambitious agenda in terms of place shaping, inward investment, commercial partnerships and economic growth”.
We would like to recruit a Building Control Manager who will help us to build on our success.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the Council’s Building Consultancy team and play a key role as part of the Planning and Building Departmental Management Team. This is an opportunity for you to prove your leadership skills and share your fresh thinking in an organisation that is ready to help you make an impact.
We are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking individual with a strong track record of delivering quality building control services. With a professional qualification, you will have strong interpersonal skills and a corporate mindset, enabling you to build emotionally intelligent relationships both internally and externally, at different organisational levels.
Your technical expertise will mean that you will be the lead officer for the Council on building control matters. Your expertise will be complemented by your ambition and creativity.
For an informal discussion please contact Paul Jackson, Head of Planning and Building on 01264 368186.
