Driver Chargehand                               

£21,987 - £24,102 per annum

37 hours per week 7am- 3pm

We are seeking a Driver Chargehand to work as part of our Environmental Services team who provide a range of high quality, front-line services across the borough.

The position is manually challenging but equally rewarding for enthusiastic and hardworking team players.  You’ll be required to carry out daily vehicle inspections and complete appropriate paperwork so basic literacy and communication skills are needed.

Due to the nature of the role, you should be used to working outdoors in all weathers and previous experience of working in a customer facing role is essential.  If you have experience of waste or cleaning services and knowledge of the Test Valley area, this would be an advantage but is not essential.

To be considered you will also ideally hold the following licenses.  

  • Category C License is required (HGV 2) 

  • Driver CPC.  Applicants who do not currently hold a Driver CPC but would be willing to undertake the required training will be considered.

Area Building Control Surveyor

This is a great time to join our forward thinking and customer-focussed  Planning & Building team.  We’re looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Building Control Surveyor who can work across a range of domestic and commercial applications, throughout Andover, Romsey and the Test Valley area.

If you’re an experienced practitioner looking for career development, this role will give you a great opportunity to get involved in pro-actively promoting and developing our Service. Alongside this, you’ll deliver a full range of services including, but not limited to, application processing; issuing decisions; site inspections; and dealing with dangerous structures/demolitions.

Ideally, you’ll have full membership of RICS, CABE  or equivalent, or you may be an Associate member experienced in a similar role who is looking to continue developing.  Either way, if you have a good knowledge of building construction and regulations, excellent communication skills and confidence in your professional decision-making, we’d love to hear from you.

Are you a creative communications and marketing professional with experience of working in the retail sector? Are you able to write for a variety of audiences using a range of communications tools and channels? If it’s a ‘yes’, then we’d love to hear from you!
We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of communications officer. This is a busy and varied post in a small communications team, so we want someone willing to rise to a challenge! Importantly, we also need someone with lots of great ideas, exceptional writing skills and strong political awareness.
Day to day you’ll be responsible for marketing the Chantry Centre shopping mall in Andover and communicating with residents, businesses and other key interested parties about our two major town centre redevelopment projects.
Based in Andover, Hampshire, Test Valley spans two market towns, beautiful chocolate box villages and miles of stunning countryside. As we’re located just off the A303, it’s an easy trip to surrounding towns and cities including Southampton, Basingstoke and Winchester. You can also get to London in just under an hour.
