Andover Town Council (St Mary’s Ward) by-election - 8 September 2022

Following the Notice of Vacancy dated 20 June 2022, a Parish Ward by-election for Andover Town Council (St Mary's Ward) has been requested and will be held on Thursday 8 September 2022.

In order to vote in this election, you need to be registered on the Register of Electors and you must be:

  • Resident in the St Mary's Ward area of Andover Town Council on the date of the election;
  • A British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of a member state of the European Union;
  • 18 years old or over.

If you are an eligible elector and you are already on the Register of Electors in the St Mary's Ward, you do not need to re-register for this election

Details of where your polling station is located will be found on your poll card.  Please note that, if your usual polling station would be at Harris Hall, Church Close, that venue is unavailable for use as a polling station on 8 September.  Therefore, your polling station will be at the Andover Bowling Club, Recreation Road.

If you are unable to get to your polling station on Thursday 8 September 2022, there are different options available to you in order for you to cast your vote:

  • By post - if you apply to vote by post before the deadline of 5.00pm on Tuesday 23 August 2022, your postal vote will be dispatched around 30 August 2022.  A copy of the application form for this can be downloaded from here.  You will need to print this form and complete it as a signature is required in order to complete the form.

    PLEASE NOTE: There is planned industrial action by Royal Mail workers scheduled for 31 August and 8 September.  Therefore, please ensure that you complete and return your postal vote pack as soon as possible if you wish to post it.  You can also hand your completed pack into the Test Valley Borough Council offices at Beech Hurst, Weyhill Road, or into any of the polling stations in the electoral area on polling day.
     
  • By Proxy - the deadline to apply to vote by proxy at these elections is 5pm on Wednesday 31 August 2022. A copy of the application form for this can be downloaded from here. Please note that you will need to print this form and complete it as a signature is required in order to complete the form.

Completed forms can either be scanned and emailed back to us at postal.voting@testvalley.gov.uk of posted back to the address shown on the form.
