Christmas office opening hours
During office opening hours you can contact the Council on 01264 368000. When the office is closed this number is connected to the Council’s emergency service line.
The Council’s Beech Hurst office will be closed from 5pm on Tuesday 24 December 2019 and will re-open at 8.30am on Thursday 2 January 2020

Brown Bin Week

Recyclable materials in cardboard boxes left beside the brown bin on recycling weeks will be collected throughout the year.Do not put gift wrap in the brown recycling bin. Most gift wrap is plastic film, foil or heavily over-printed, low grade paper. Used gift wrap is also often scrunched up and covered with sticky tape. Overall it has very little, if any, material benefit for recycling.
During the festive period, the Local Recycling Centres will be monitored and emptied regularly.
The Household Waste Recycling Centres will be open 9am - 4pm except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

During the Christmas and New Year period only waste left in bags beside the black bin on a household waste collection day will be accepted. Collection teams will only empty one black bin per property unless extra bin capacity has been authorised.Garden waste collections will not take place between Monday 23 December 2019 and Friday 3 January 2020.

Christmas Trees
Download location leaflet Once the festive season is over, you can dispose of your real Christmas tree in a number of ways:
Take it to one of the Council's temporary disposal sites:
- Homebase, Enham Arch Retail Park, Andover
- Dobbles Garden Centre, Salisbury Road, Andover
- Rosebourne, Amesbury Road, Weyhill
- Augusta Park Community Centre, East Anton Farm Road, Andover
- Alma Road Car Park, Near Waitrose, Romsey
- Knightwood Leisure Centre, Valley Park
- B&Q, Nursling
- Village Hall, West Wellow
These sites are provided for real Christmas trees only and will be in operation from Friday 27 December 2019 to Monday 13 January 2020. Please follow the site instructions and place your tree in the area provided.
- Take it to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
- Put it out for collection by the Council's Garden Waste Collection Service - this is a chargeable service
All of the collected trees will be composted to produce Pro-Grow. Pro-Grow is a high quality organic soil conditioner produced within Hampshire by Project Integra and can be bought at any HWRC.
