Chilworth, Nursling & Rownhams Ward / Nursling & Rownhams Parish By-Election

Following the Notice of Vacancy dated 20 January 2020, a Borough by-election for the Chilworth, Nursling & Rownhams Ward has been requested and, if contested, will be held on Thursday 19 March 2020.  A Parish by-election for the Nursling & Rownhams Parish Council has also been requested and, if contested, will be held on the same day as the Borough by-election.

In order to vote in these elections, you need to be registered on the Register of Electors and you must be:

  • Resident in the Chilworth, Nursling & Rownhams Borough Ward and the Nursling & Rownhams Parish on the date of the election;
  • A British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of a member state of the European Union;
  • 18 years old or over

If you are an eligible elector and you are already on the Register of Electors in the Chilworth, Nursling & Rownhams Ward, you do not need to re-register for this election.

If you are unable to get to your polling station on 19 March 2020, there are difference options available to you in order for you to cast your vote:

  • By post - if you apply to vote by post before the deadline of Wednesday 4 March 2020, your postal vote will be dispatched around Monday 9 March 2020.

  • By Proxy - the deadline to apply to vote by proxy at these elections is 5pm on Wednesday 11 March 2020. A copy of the application form for this can be downloaded from here. Completed forms can either be scanned and emailed back to us at postal.voting@testvalley.gov.uk or posted back to the address shown on the form.
