Festive Pop-Up Indoor Market at the Chantry Centre

Pop-up indoor market gets the green light for December

Now that lockdown restrictions have eased, there will be a new pop-up shopping experience popping up in the Chantry Centre each Saturday in December, starting from this week (5 December) from 10am – 6pm.

The indoor pop-up market will feature a wide range of independent artisan stalls, with additional guest stalls each Saturday.  Traders will include: Petal Boutique, with wreaths and festive decorations (these can also be ordered in advance for collection by calling 01264 771382), Mr Pickles with chilli based sauces and pickles including the UK’s hottest chilli sauce, Rustic Craft Cabin with pyrography gifts, Victoria and Isaac with beautiful handmade clothes for babies and children, Kirsty Colbourne with stocking fillers and Christmas decorations and Wet Banana with clothing, candles, jewellery and art prints.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Phil North, said: “Following our purchase of the Chantry Centre, the council is keen to encourage new enterprise, both in the medium term, but also in the short-term with the opportunity for pop-ups in vacant units that will support and encourage smaller, independent traders to gain a High Street presence.  The indoor pop-up Christmas market is a great way to shop local and meet and support local artisans.”

The pop-up Christmas market will take place from 10am – 6pm on Saturday, 5, 12 and 19 December in the Chantry Centre, Andover.

In addition to the pop-up indoor markets, there will be a fun family Christmas trail around the town centre on each of the Saturday’s in December.  Sponsored by Waitrose, there will be 20 festive tags hidden around the town on the 5, 12 and 19 December – find one and hand it in to Waitrose customer services to enter a prize draw with a chance to win some seasonal goodies.   A winner will be drawn each week and notified by email.

On Sunday, 13 December there will be a special trail to coincide with the Christmas Food and Gift Fair.  Thirty Christmas tags will be hidden for children to find one and hand in to Waitrose to receive a free prize on the day.

These events are all part of a special seasonal programme delivered by Test Valley Borough Council and Andover Vision.  For details of all events visit: www.testvalley.gov.uk/ChristmasEvents
