Show your heart a little love this Valentine’s Day!

In celebration of this year’s Valentine’s Day, the Chantry Centre is teaming up with a group of local heart care charities to encourage the people of Andover to show their hearts a little love.

On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February, visitors to Andover’s shopping centre can stop by to learn some top tips about taking care of their heart and overall wellbeing. Charities taking part include heart failure charity The Pumping Marvellous Foundation, along with the cholesterol charity Heart UK and heart muscle charity Cardiomyopathy UK.

A team of specialist heart nurses will also be taking residence in the unit behind Toy Arena, offering shoppers free pulse and blood pressure checks in a discreet environment across the weekend.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Phil North said: “Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to show our loved ones how much we care about them, but we often forget to show ourselves a little TLC. We want to send out a positive message this Valentine’s Day to get people thinking more about taking care of themselves. I’m thrilled that so many organisations are getting involved to help spread the word and educate the people of Andover about heart health.”

Not forgetting that Valentine’s Day is traditionally a day to share with a loved one, visitors to the Chantry Centre will also have the opportunity to enter a special giveaway for the chance to win a Valentines hamper for two.

The event will be taking place in the Chantry Centre, next to Boswell’s Café seating area, on Saturday 8  February 10.30am to 5pm and Sunday 9 February 10.30am to 4pm.
