Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA)
There is a legal requirement to consider whether land use plans and planning proposals are likely to have a significant effect on European sites of nature conservation importance. The sites covered by this legislation include Special Protection Areas (SPAs) and Special Areas of Conservation (SACs). National guidance recommends that Ramsar sites are also assessed. There are a number of these nature conservation designations within or in close proximity to Test Valley.
