More information

Welcome to the local media service from Test Valley Borough Council

A central service for the local media is provided by the Communications Team, led by the Communications Manager, and reporting to the Chief Executive. Communications and media relations are included in the portfolio of the Leader of the Council, Councillor Phil North.

The Team can be contacted by e-mail at communications@testvalley.gov.uk or telephone 01264 368000.

Some of the main things we can help you with are:

Media enquiries

We aim to provide a response to all enquiries as soon as possible or we will call back to agree when we will be able to provide a response.

Wherever possible we ask for at least 24 hours notice to arrange interviews.

News releases

News releases are issued via e-mail and are published on the website.

If you are a member of the media and would like to be added to our news release distribution list then please contact the Communications Team.

Media contacts

The Communications team act as the council's first point of contact for media enquiries and deal with around 600 enquiries a year from journalists representing local, national and technical media. We issue news releases on behalf of the council and arrange events to launch or promote key initiatives.

Borough newspaper - Test Valley News

The team publishes the borough’s newspaper, which is sent to about 57,000 households in the area twice yearly in March and October. Test Valley News aims to keep local residents informed about the public services and facilities available to them and other important local information.

Corporate identity

Clear and consistent branding is as important to the council as to any other large organisation. Corporate identity guidelines and downloadable copies of the council’s logo are available here.
