Memorial benches and trees

Memorial benches and trees

Test Valley Borough Council has a history of residents generously donating memorial benches and trees within our parks, countryside areas and cemeteries.

We have now reached a point where some of these green spaces have reached saturation point particularly with regard to benches

Memorial Park, Romsey There are currently no opportunities for additional memorial benches.

Woodley Cemetery in Romsey now has a new extension and within the extension we are encouraging name plaques on the large benches provided by the Council rather than new benches. There are however, locations set aside for new memorial trees.

Charlton Cemetery. We are pausing on allowing new benches here until a new burial section is opened. There are limited opportunities for memorial trees.

Countryside sites. There is no availability for new memorial benches or trees across all countryside sites, including Local Nature Reserves. There is limited availability for a memorial plaque or slat on an existing bench. Please contact Countryside Officers for availability.

All the above will be reviewed periodically.
