Christmas in Andover

Christmas comes to Andover this weekend!

Come and see Santa, be wowed by a host of circus performers, hang out with Rudolph, sing along with Harry the Piano and take part in a spectacular nutcracker trail in Andover this weekend!

Test Valley Borough Council, Andover BID and Andover Town Council will be kick-starting the festive period with a series of fantastic events this Saturday and Sunday, with the fun continuing throughout December.

The Chantry Centre Christmas grotto will be opening its doors on Saturday 27 November. Located close to Sports Direct, there’s no need to book – simply turn up on the day. And then pop next door to browse the wonderful array of gifts and goodies from talented traders in the pop-up market from 10am to 5pm.

Head to town early on Sunday 28 November and enjoy a day jam-packed with seasonal cheer. Enjoy a mulled wine or two while browsing the Christmas Food and Gift Fair in the High Street from 11am to 3pm and watch the breath-taking Cirque Winter Wonderland. Pop to see the light booth by the Guildhall, indulge in a spot of entertainment at the Time Ring, then swing by St Mary’s church to see the spectacular pendulum and hypercube, before heading to Town Mills riverside park for a test of strength with the strongman and sideshow stalls.

And as the day draws to a close, gather around the Christmas tree for carols and soak up the festive atmosphere.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, councillor Phil North, said: “This weekend marks the start of Christmas in Andover – and what a fantastic couple of days we have to look forward to. And it doesn’t end there, with pop-up and artisan markets, street performers and the grotto continuing throughout December, there will be plenty to keep you entertained over the coming weeks. We can’t wait to see you all there.”
