It’s time for tea, as NEW Tea Room opens its doors in Andover
The Tea Room Andover has opened in the town centre this week, offering a variety of homemade refreshments and afternoon tea experiences.
Situated at 45 High Street, the new business will be open on Wednesdays to Saturdays, with an opportunity to book experiences on Sundays.
The carefully crafted menu features breakfast treats, takeaway lunches including jacket potatoes and freshly prepared salads and cream teas which can be enjoyed throughout the week.
Those looking for something extra special can pre-book an afternoon tea experience which offers a scrumptious selection of delicate sandwiches, savoury pastries, scones, an array of cakes and unlimited tea or coffee.
The new business is owned by local residents, mother and daughter Jackie Lusk and Hayley Rowbotham who have een working closely with Test Valley Borough Council to open in the town. They have totally transformed the unit, which is located behind the Guildhall, to bring their vintage tea room to life. The cosy café will offer a place for friends and families to meet, catch up and celebrate special occasions.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Phil North said: “It’s fantastic to see another new business opening in Andover and I’m delighted we have been able to support Jackie and Hayley with their venture.
“I’m sure it will be popular with residents and visitors alike. I wish them all the very best in making this a success.”
Cllr Iris Andersen, local councillor for St Mary’s Ward, said: “Jackie and Hayley have put a lot of effort into making this a really lovely place, I’m sure lots of people will be looking forward to coming here and enjoying a cup of tea and a piece of cake.”
