New fabric shop opens in the Chantry Centre
Sew Confused Fabrics has opened its doors in the Chantry Centre.
Keen crafters can head to the shop to stock up on a wide range of fabric including cotton, polycotton, jersey and leather. The store is also stocked with accessories such as webbing, zips, bag-making items and wool.
Prior to opening in the centre of Andover, the businesses, which is run by Laura Waters, has been operating online since 2017. The new retail unit, which is located next to Tot City and opposite the Health Hub, will be open six days a week from Monday to Saturday.
In addition to buying materials, shoppers can also look forward to browsing range of items such as bags, purses and cushions, all of which have been handmade by Laura.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Phil North said: “It’s fantastic to see another new business opening in the Chantry Centre and I’m pleased that we have been able to support Laura in taking over this unit. I wish her all the very best in making this a success.”
Cllr Iris Andersen, local councillor for St Mary’s Ward, said: “Laura has already been running a successful online store for several years and I’m sure the new shop in the Chantry Centre will be popular with anyone who has in an interest in sewing and crafting.”
Owner of the shop Laura said: “I’m delighted to have opened the store inside the Chantry Centre, where we will be selling quality fabrics at affordable prices. I’m really looking forward to meeting lots of new customers and helping with their sewing and fabric needs.”
The shop was opened on Saturday 8 February by Cllr Anderson and Cllr Cattell.
