Andover Job Fair to boost local employment opportunities

Test Valley Borough Council, in collaboration with Job Centre Plus, Andover Chamber of Commerce, and Sparsholt College Group, is excited to be hosting the Andover Job Fair on Wednesday 11 June. The event will be held at The Lights Theatre in Andover from 9.30am to 12.30pm, providing a fantastic opportunity for local adults to explore new career paths, return to work, or seek new challenges.

The job fair is open to all, and attendees can simply turn up on the day. A diverse range of employers will be present, including Agincare, the Army, Aureos Infrastructure Services, Bluebird Care, BP Rolls, Caremark Test Valley, Enham Trust, Hampshire Police, Ocado Logistics, Ocado Engineering, Perfect Bore Manufacturing, Purple Oak, the Royal Navy, Scottish and Southern Electricity, Test Valley Borough Council, Twinings, and Venture Security. Employment agencies Abacus and Active Staff will also be in attendance, along with Unity, which will provide information on volunteering opportunities. Itchen College will also discuss their skills bootcamps courses available in Hampshire.

In addition to meeting potential employers, job seekers can benefit from free one-on-one advice sessions in key areas such as CV writing with Matt Sheerin from After the Military, interview skills with Kavita Malhotra from LDG Training, transferrable skills with Paula Bedford from the Education Development Trust, and LinkedIn profiles with Andover College staff.

Councillor Phil North, Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, commented, "We are thrilled to host the Andover Job Fair once again. This event is a vital resource for our community, offering invaluable support to job seekers and connecting them with local employers. We encourage everyone looking for new opportunities to attend and take advantage of the resources available."

Last year's job fair resulted in at least 10 job offers, demonstrating its potential to make a significant impact on local employment.
