Across the Table receives council grant to support growing singles supper club business

A local business that brings people together through shared dining experiences has been awarded a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council.

Across the Table, run by Tina Richards, organises supper parties and social dining events to help people connect in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Based in Test Valley, the business has already built a strong following, with more than 800 people on its database.

While most events focus on smaller supper parties, Tina has also successfully delivered larger gatherings, including an event for around 160 people.

Tina Richards, founder of Across the Table, said: “Receiving this grant is a real boost for my business. Across the Table is all about bringing people together over great food, and it’s been amazing to see the connections that have come from it. The support from the council will help me continue to grow and reach even more people.”

The business has already made a real impact, with several couples forming after meeting at an event organised by Across the Table. Tina is now looking to build on this success and explore further support through the council’s small business service.

Mid Test Ward Councillor Alison Johnston said: “We are delighted to support Tina through the Business Incentive Grant. Across the Table is a fantastic example of a local entrepreneur creating opportunities for people to connect, while contributing to the local economy.”

Test Valley Borough Council is committed to supporting local businesses through various initiatives and grants. The Business Incentive Grant is designed to help new businesses located in Test Valley achieve their goals and contribute to the local economy. You must apply for the grant within eight weeks of starting to trade, and the Council will award the money once you have been up and running for a minimum of six months.
