Spring starts here: Andover markets and wellbeing fair return

The popular Second Sundays and Chantry Centre indoor markets return to Andover town centre this weekend, showcasing a mix of local traders, handmade goods and delicious produce.

The indoor market restarts on Saturday 7 March, with local makers and independent traders bringing a burst of colour and creativity back under the Chantry Centre roof. Then on Sunday 8 March, Second Sundays will take over the High Street with its familiar blend of artisan stalls, original gifts, good food and easy-going family fun. As always, visitors can get stuck into a free creative workshop, and this month you’ll be invited to design and make some colourful bunting, which will be used to decorate the creative workshop zone throughout the rest of this year’s markets. The Second Sundays’ resident vinyl DJ will set the tone with a joyful soundtrack that drifts through the market as you wander between stalls, chat to makers, and discover something a little different, all on your doorstep.

These two events mark the start of a busy town centre events calendar. The following week you’ll find the Spring Wellbeing Fair on Thursday 12 March, celebrating healthy, happy living with information and advice from local services and charities. It’s another chance to explore what Andover does best: bringing people together, supporting local businesses, and making the most of our green, welcoming and walkable town.

Councillor Phil North, leader of Test Valley Borough Council, said: “The markets always bring a real buzz to Andover. They showcase the talent and creativity we have here, and they’re a brilliant way for people to enjoy the town centre while supporting local businesses. I’d really encourage you to come along, soak up the atmosphere and see what’s new in Andover this spring.”

Both the Chantry Centre Indoor Market and Second Sundays are free to attend, and everyone is welcome. To find out more about what’s happening in Andover town centre over the coming weeks, visit thinkandovertowncentre.co.uk/events.
