Independent jewellery boutique receives boost through council grant
La Bohème Chic an independent jewellery boutique based in the Chantry Centre, Andover, has received £1,200 grant from Test Valley Borough Council's Independent Retailer Grant Scheme.
La Bohème Chic offers a carefully curated collection of contemporary jewellery, including sterling silver, gold and gemstone pieces sourced from small, family-run jewellery makers across mainland Europe. Many of the designs take inspiration from Italian craftsmanship, with collections selected in small quantities to offer customers distinctive pieces that are not widely available elsewhere.
In addition to retail sales, the business also provides jewellery alteration and bespoke design services, giving customers the opportunity to adapt treasured items or create unique pieces tailored to their individual style.
Aneta Ivanova, owner of La Bohème Chic, said: "Opening La Bohème Chic at the Chantry Centre has been an exciting step for me and I am delighted to have received this support from Test Valley Borough Council. Jewellery has always been a passion of mine, and I love being able to bring unique pieces from independent European makers to customers in Andover. The grant will help me continue growing the business, introducing new collections and raising awareness of the bespoke services I offer."
Andover St Mary's ward Councillor Debbie Cattell said: "La Bohème Chic is a wonderful addition to the Chantry Centre. Having visited the shop, I was impressed by the unique and interesting jewellery Aneta has carefully selected, as well as her enthusiasm and knowledge. Independent retailers play an important role in making our town centres attractive places to visit, and we are proud to support her journey through our Independent Retailer Grant scheme."
The Independent Retailer Grant is part of the council's ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses and encouraging economic growth across the borough. It provides £1,200 in two tranches, after a minimum of three months and nine months of trading, to businesses moving into empty ground-floor town centre premises.
