Local Recycling Centres
There is a network of more than 100 Local Recycling Centres in the borough which collect a variety of materials. To find out which materials are collected at your nearest Local Recycling Centre, use Recycle Now's Recycling Locator.
What can be recycled at a Local Recycling Centre?
Glass Bottles and Jars
Green, clear, brown, blue, red glass - no matter what colour it is, it can all be recycled - put it into the mixed glass bank. No ceramics, pyrex, wine glasses, spectacles or window panes.
Foil
To test if the foil is aluminium foil, scrunch it up in your hand. If it springs back then it is not suitable for recycling as it is a plastic foil.
Books
Periodicals, magazines, CDs, DVDs and pre-recorded audio and video cassettes.
Textiles
Clothing, footwear (in pairs), bedding, towelling and blankets.
Cartons and Paper Based Tubes with Metal Ends
Juice and soup cartons and gravy, hot chocolate, crisp tubes etc.
Please remember:
- All non-recyclable waste must be taken to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.
- Bric-a-Brac should be taken to your local charity shop.
- Cardboard can be put out for collection in your brown recycling bin
You can report a Local Recycling Centre issue here: My Test Valley - try to include as much information as you can - including photos if you have any.
