Our apprenticeships provide an excellent opportunity to learn on the job whilst also studying to gain a relevant qualification.

We provide a skills programme throughout our apprentices’ first year of employment where they attend regular workshops to build workplace skills such as communication, presentation, first aid, project management and an opportunity for job shadowing. Attending these events also enables our apprentices to meet up with apprentices from across the Council and begin to build a network of contacts and support.
As well as support from their manager and colleagues, all our apprentices are offered a mentor; an experienced person from another part of the Council who can offer confidential guidance and advice to help with learning, development and building confidence at work.
