Polling District Review 2023

Notice of Review

Test Valley Borough Council is undertaking a periodic review of Polling Districts and Polling Places, under section 18C of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended). The review will at the same time consider the suitability of existing polling stations and possible alternative polling stations.

The Council is seeking representations and feedback from any interested party that wishes to comment on any aspect of the polling districts and/or polling places and/or polling stations currently used.

The (Acting) Returning Officer has made a submission on the existing and proposed polling stations and that submission is available on the Council’s website:- www.testvalley.gov.uk/pdr. Anyone responding to the consultation is entitled to comment on the (Acting) Returning Officer’s submission as well as other matters which are the subject of the review.

The consultation period for the review formally commences on 13 October 2023 and concludes on 24 November 2023.

Electors within the Council area or within a UK Parliamentary constituency which has any part in the authority may make a representation. We invite comments from all electors regarding the convenience of voting at polling stations currently used for elections and would welcome suggestions for alternative sites.  Anyone suggesting alternative polling places or polling stations are asked to support their representations with reasons, in order to assist the review process.

The Council would also welcome the views of all residents, particularly disabled residents, or any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability, on the proposals, (A)RO’s representations or any other related matters.

Anybody making representations should be aware that, upon completion of the review, all correspondence and representations received must, by law, also be published.

Relevant information and mapping regarding the current arrangements and proposals for changes can be found on the Council’s website at www.testvalley.gov.uk/pdr or can be inspected at the offices of Test Valley Borough Council during normal office hours 08:30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 08:30am – 4:30pm on Friday.

Representations should be emailed to pdr@testvalley.gov.uk  or sent in writing to -
