Crisis and Resilience Fund - Housing Payment

What is a housing payment?

Discretionary Housing Payments have been replaced with a housing payment from the Crisis and Resilience Fund.

Housing payments are intended to provide financial support to individuals who are entitled to certain benefits which do not cover their full housing costs.

No one is guaranteed a housing payment. Each application will be looked at on its own merit, taking into account household income, expenses and circumstances. Full details on how we make decisions can be found in our housing payment policy.

In order to receive a housing payment, you must be in receipt of:

  • Housing benefit; or
  • The Housing Cost Element of Universal Credit

If you need help with anything other than housing costs, or you do not receive a qualifying benefit, please visit the Crisis and Resilience Fund page here.
