Breaking Business Barriers to Net Zero

This report, published by the Carbon Trust, discusses the major barriers that large businesses face in their transition to Net Zero. It is based on input from more than 400 senior sustainability decision makers in large businesses in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Mexico.

The main barriers identified are:

  • Making the internal business case for Net Zero
  • Tackling Scope 3 emissions
  • Concerns about external scrutiny of progress.

The report proposes steps for tackling each barrier.
