They can also advise on areas including work trials, work experience and apprenticeships, and employing someone with a disability or health condition.
Jobcentre Plus is working alongside employers to try to tackle the high numbers of young people aged 18-24 who are not in work, education or training. Youth Jobs Grants of £3,000 are available to employers, per hire, when they recruit a young person aged 18-24 who has been unemployed and on Universal Credit for at least 6 months. Jobcentre Plus will help identify potential candidates for you to meet prior to recruitment. The Youth Jobs Grant is dependent on you offering a genuine paid job of at least 25 hours per week at a minimum of National Minimum Wage for at least 4 months.
