Asbestos - Working With
Working with asbestos-containing materials can expose you to fibres that cause an asbestos-related disease. Twenty tradespeople die, on average, every week from an asbestos-related disease.
The HSE has developed the 'Beware Asbestos' free web app, the key features of which are:
- Identifies whether activities have no asbestos risk, can be undertaken by a tradesperson, or require a licensed contractor;
- Simple how-to-guides covering non-licensed jobs on commonly found asbestos-containing materials;
- An asbestos image gallery to help identify where asbestos may be found;
- A licensed contractor database.
