Andover Young Trader Market 2025

FAQ's

  • When and where are the events?

Andover High Street – Sunday 8th June 2025, 10am-3pm, Andover High Street, in conjunction with the monthly Second Sundays market.

  • Is there a charge for a pitch?

    No, pitches are free

  • What are the timings on the day?

You will be sent arrival details a week or two before the event with parking arrangements and exact timings, but as a rough guide you will usually be allowed to arrive to set up your stall up to
2 hours before the market starts. Packing up is often much quicker so allow around an hour after the market ends.

  • Are the markets indoors or outdoors?

In Andover the market will be outdoors on the high street, as an extension of the monthly Second Sundays market.

  • What equipment do I need?

A standard 6ft trestle table will be provided and set up for you. For the market in Andover we will also provide and set up a 3x3m gazebo for each trader.
You will need to bring your own table cover, chairs, and any other display equipment, and of course your stock. It’s a good idea to practice setting up your display at home first, to make sure you’ve thought of everything!

  • Who can participate?

Participants must be aged 11-25 years old.

  • What can I sell?

We’re particularly interested in stallholders who make their own stock, whether it’s cakes, jewellery, cards, keyrings, wall art, candles…the list goes on. You can also apply if you sell vintage, upcycled or curated products. For example second hand games or books, or eco products. In line with our regular market guidance we look for environmentally responsible products that minimise landfill through their choice of packaging and materials.

  • Can I have access to electricity or running water?

    Unfortunately not at this event.

  • Do I need insurance?

These events will be covered by the organisers Public Liability Insurance. If you are selling regularly at events we would recommend that you look into your own product and public liability insurance.

  • Do I need to be accompanied by an adult?

Sellers under 18 must be accompanied by at least one responsible adult at all times.

  • What happens if I sell out of stock?

Well done! Although you might want to take note of what sold well, and consider whether your pricing was right? Did you sell fast because things were too cheap? Take a look at what other stallholders are doing and think about how you could improve another time, ( eg. make more stock, increase your price etc.)

  • What happens if the event is cancelled?

If we have to cancel the event for any reason we will contact you as soon as possible. If it’s possible to re-arrange to an alternative date we will do so.

  • What happens if I can no longer attend on the day for any reason?

Please let us know as soon as you can so we can make adjustments to the market layout and offer your place to someone else if there’s time.

  • Can I sign up with a friend or a group?

Yes, but please make one application between you and nominate a lead contact for the application who we can communicate with.

  • Where can I find business advice or help to get started?

We have partnered with Incuhive to offer an hour’s free business mentoring to all young traders that take part in the market. This will take place after the market date.

  • Do I need a website or social media?

Not at all, but if you already have one that’s great, and could be a good way for you to keep in touch with your new customers.
