Parks and Green Spaces - Romsey

Romsey has a wealth of natural areas, parks, walks and cycle ways. Planting brightens up the borough, whilst trees and shrubs help wildlife to thrive. We help maintain and conserve the countryside and provide new open spaces for the whole community to enjoy.

Town Parks - Romsey

War Memorial Park
This is a traditional public park situated on the west side of town.  A beautifully maintained park it was created in 1920 from a 5 acre meadow locally known as Street Mead. It is surrounded on three sides by the world renowned River Test.

Perfect for a stroll or to sit and enjoy one of the regular concerts in the Bandstand, the park's facilities include a cafe, lawn bowls club, fishing, formal gardens, inclusive children's playground, tennis courts, toilets and seating.

A 150mm Japanese field gun is sited in the park. This was a donation from Lord Mountbatten who received the gun as Supreme Allied Commander of the South East Asia command on surrender of the Japanese forces.

The current bandstand is based on original Victoria castings.
