From 1 April 2025 we are introducing new ‘Tourist Information Points’ to be rolled out across Test Valley, they will consist of both digital and print information. The first one will be situated in the current Test Valley Visitor Information Centre based in Romsey, which will become an extension of one of our popular historical attractions near Romsey Abbey, King John’s House.

Background information

The changes to our tourism information provision follows an independent review of Tourism in Test Valley conducted in 2023 highlighted that that tourism and customer behaviours are changing, and more people are planning visits online. As a result, the review concluded that we can enhance our tourism offer through investing in digital marketing as a more effective way to attract visitors to Test Valley.

King John’s House will expand into the current Test Valley Visitor Information Centre unit and become one of nine proposed Tourism Information Points located in existing businesses across Test Valley that will signpost and assist visitors, providing access to digital information and a streamlined leaflet offer. This will enable us to expand our reach and promote tourism more effectively across the whole borough.
