When making changes to a Council Tax Support scheme, there is the possibility that households could receive less support than under the previous scheme. The Council has aimed to minimise the number of households who might see a reduction in support by carefully modelling the proposed scheme based on our current case load. The Council has also proposed that a discretionary fund is included in our Council Tax Support scheme to assist those who face exceptional hardship in paying their Council Tax.
The proposed Council Tax Support scheme will be recommended for implementation with effect from April 2025.
