If our council is to be sensitive to the needs of the community, it requires councillors with a wide range of talents and interests who reflect the diversity of the population as a whole. Above all, they must be people who want to shape, direct and monitor the effectiveness of local services for the benefit of the people of Test Valley.
Councillors play a key role in decisions about policy and service delivery as well as in sitting on committees such as planning and licensing. Equally important is carrying out of work in the “ward” that they represent and resolving problems for constituents.
