Councillor Lashbrook presenting a £750 Business Incentive Grant to Tony Macdonald.

Decorating business primed for council grant

An Andover man has been awarded a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council after starting up as a decorator this year.

Tony Macdonald previously worked as a mechanic before braving a career change into painting and decorating. He was recommended to contact Test Valley Borough Council to see if he qualified for a Business Incentive Grant.

Basing himself in Andover and surrounding areas, Tony’s business Quality Painting and Decorating has already served a number of residential and industrial premises.

Charlton and The Pentons ward councillor Linda Lashbrook, said: “This is exactly what the Business Incentive Grants from the council are for. I’m pleased that Test Valley Borough Council have been able to help Tony with his new business and I wish him all the best for the future.

The council’s business incentive grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.

These funds have become available to the community as a consequence of the council’s prudent investments, financial management and the use of the New Homes Bonus.
