Lawn and Order Cllr Brooks presents cheque to Mark Gonsalves
Gardening business set to flourish after being awarded a grant from the council
Lawn and Order, a new business launched by Andover man Mark Gonsalves, has been given a boost with a £750 business incentive grant from Test Valley Borough Council.
Mark’s career has been in the print industry for the last 22 years and after being made redundant in the first lockdown, he decided to have a change of direction. After a period of helping a friend who is a landlord to maintain his properties, he decided to go self-employed and set up Lawn and Order, which will work across Test Valley with a focus on larger gardens.
Mark said: “It is fantastic news that I have been awarded a business grant from the council and it is a great boost to help get Lawn and Order up and running.”
Councillor Zilliah Brooks, who presented the cheque to Mark Gonsalves, said: “The grant schemes give new local businesses a helping hand in the early stages of getting established. I wish Mark all the best for his handyman and gardening business.”
The council’s business incentive grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
These funds have become available to the community as a consequence of the council’s prudent investments, financial management and the use of the New Homes Bonus.
