New café opens at Ganger Farm Sports Park
A great new café, ‘Charlie’s Cafe Romsey’, has opened in the lounge area at Ganger Farm Sports Park, to provide refreshments to the local community and the large number of participants and spectators using the sports pitches.
Charlie, who runs the café, has a range of experience in the catering industry, as well as experience of managing sites such as the Adesso Coffee and Panni Bar at Eastleigh train station, and food shacks at Eastleigh Football Stadium, on match days.
Charlie’s Café Romsey will be offering a range of ‘Grab & Go’ food with hot/cold options available, from breakfast baps, pannis, sandwiches, burgers and dirty fries, along with a range of drinks, including barista coffee and fresh milkshakes. It will also provide catering for birthday parties and events at the site.
Charlie said, “I am pleased to be given the opportunity to set up the café at Ganger Farm Sports Park, it is a fantastic new facility with plenty of space for people to relax and enjoy a coffee and some food with some great views of the pitches for spectators. We opened in mid-November, and it has already proved to be popular with players, spectators, friends and families. ”
Community and Leisure portfolio holder councillor Terese Swain, said “This is a wonderful addition to the facilities offered at Ganger Farm Sports Park, and great for the local community, visiting teams and spectators.”
The site had been selling over 700 items from vending machines on average each month. The café will be working with the management team at Ganger Farm Sports Park to monitor and adapt its catering offering to their customers, in line with potential events and meetings that take place at the site. The current opening hours are Monday to Friday 3pm to 9pm and weekends 8am to 4pm.
