Jump down the rabbit hole to join Alice’s Adventures in Andover next month!
Don’t be late for a very important date! On Saturday 1 April Andover will be in for a treat as the town centre will transform into a very special ‘wonderland’ to host live street theatre performances.
Families can join Alice in a world of playful, immersive nonsense that is both delightful and mad as enchanting characters from the well-loved children’s book, Alice in Wonderland, will take audiences on a journey across the town.
Organised by Test Valley Borough Council, the day will consist of three different performances taking place between 11am to 11:45am, 12:30pm to 1:15pm and 2pm to 2:45pm. Characters will be popping up in various locations including the High Street, the Chantry Centre and The Library, so audiences will need to seek them out on the day.
Everyone is welcome to come along and get involved in this free event, as professional actors bring the magical story to life. Visitors can expect conversation, riddles, acrobatics and hilari-tea as they chat with Caterpillar, play croquet with the Queen and have tea with the Hatter.
Alongside the live theatre, there will be free Alice in Wonderland-themed craft workshops taking place in the Chantry Centre’s indoor garden area, near to Boswell’s and families will have the chance to take part in a special Alice-themed scavenger hunt throughout the town. InAndover from Andover BID will be launching some Easter activities on the day, including a special Easter bonnet trail and window dressing competition. The Chantry Centre’s Indoor market will also be open between 9:30am – 4pm, featuring local independent businesses.
