Local custom computer keyboard design business awarded council grant
Local product designer Thomas Beesley, of ‘Bees.Keys’, has been awarded a £750 business incentive grant by Test Valley Borough Council, to help develop his high-end customised keyboard design business.
Thomas’s keyboards have proved to be a hit, with the first batch he designed selling out on the morning they were launched. Having transferred some of his skills in 3D design from a past career in architecture, Thomas is currently working on projects including an Art Deco style keyboard and a Hundred Acres Winnie-the-Pooh themed keyboard.
Thomas said: “I am thrilled to receive a start-up grant from Test Valley Borough Council, which will help with set-up costs for my workstation.”
Business Incentive Grants are for new full-time businesses located in Test Valley and must be applied for before you start your business. They will be paid once you have been up and running for six months.
Councillor Katie Brooks who presented the cheque to Thomas added: “This grant is intended to make a positive contribution towards the cost of creating a small business. We are committed to supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs in the local community. I wish Thomas all the best as he continues to grow and innovate.”
