A summer of fun continues at Four Fun Fridays

Four Fun Fridays has been livening up Andover High Street for the past two weeks and there's more to look forward in the second half of the month.

On Friday 16 August families can take part in some colourful Bollywood themed workshops with Art Asia, at 11.45am and 1.15pm, which will be followed by special performances.

Local storyteller, Amanda from Merry Go Round Storytelling, will be back to delight audiences with the classic tale of the Hare and the Tortoise in an interactive session at 11.10am, 12.30pm and 2.15pm.

Children will have the chance to enjoy free face painting, take part in some Lego dot-printing workshops with Chapel Arts Studios and participate in some bronze-age inspired workshops.

Test Valley Borough Council’s countryside team will be on site to talk about the importance of water safety, and visitors will have the chance to have a go at throwing a throwline and make some mini boats using natural materials.

Representatives from Southampton Children's Hospital will also be coming along to the event to talk about their important work and run some fun games and activities such as giant Jenga and bracelet making.

On Friday 23 August visitors can strike up the band as Junk Orchestra will be encouraging everyone to have a go at playing music on a funky selection of upcycled instruments.

The popular Urban Canvas will be returning to run vibrant creative activities, and children will have the chance to try their hand at the delicate art of making mosaics with Hampshire Community Heritage.

Andover Trees United and Chapel Arts Studios will be running some special activities, there will be free face painting and Amanda will be back to tell the story of The Three Little Pigs at 11.15am, 12.30pm and 2pm.

The annual event is an opportunity for residents and visitors to come together and experience new activities, workshops and watch exciting performances each week. Four Fun Fridays provides local organisations with a chance to engage with the community and showcase their work, while national performers bring something a little different to the High Street each week, ensuing there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Four Fun Fridays runs from 11am to 3pm on Andover High Street and everything is free.
