Test Valley businesses join forces for Net Zero Innovation group

Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC), in collaboration with the University of Southampton Science Park and the Future Towns Innovation Hub, has launched a new Test Valley Net Zero Innovation Network, bringing together leading-edge companies within the borough that are developing new technologies and processes to tackle the net zero challenges.

The group had its first meeting earlier this month. The companies described their innovative products and approaches, and discussed how they could work collaboratively for the benefit of their businesses, the environment, and our local communities.

The meeting was held at the Future Towns Innovation Hub, which is based at the University of Southampton Science Park with testing facilities, offices and co-working spaces.

Dr Thomas Rushby, Senior Enterprise Fellow form the Future Towns Innovation Hub, said: "It was a pleasure to host the first Test Valley Net Zero Innovation Group meeting at the Future Towns Innovation Hub.

“We heard about the breadth of challenges and opportunities for local businesses in the net zero space and how the University can help to accelerate innovation towards a sustainable future. We look forward to continuing to work with TVBC to support this group in collaborating for net zero."

Portfolio Holder for Countryside and Climate Emergency, Councillor Alison Johnston, added: “It was brilliant to hear that the first meeting of the Test Valley Net Zero Innovation Group was a success. This will be a hugely important network as we continue to tackle the net zero challenges businesses and organisations are facing. I look forward to following the group’s progress.”
