Dog care business in Andover awarded £750 council grant

A new dog walking and sitting business in Andover has been awarded a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC).

Kathryn Rennie, owner of JK Howling, transitioned from a career in teaching to successfully launch her dog daycare business. She has received a great response to her new venture and is well-connected with a network of local dog care businesses. These businesses frequently refer clients to each other when they are at capacity. Kathryn has found this network, along with the guidance from the TVBC animal welfare officer, to be invaluable.

In addition to running the dog daycare, Kathryn is training to become a dog groomer, and she plans to offer grooming services to her clients in the new year.

Kathryn expressed her gratitude for the grant, stating: "The support from Test Valley Borough Council is incredibly helpful and has enabled me to grow the business. I am excited about the future and the new services I will be able to offer my clients thanks to the funding.”

Andover Downlands ward, Councillor Chris Donnelly, said, "I am delighted to see JK Howling receive this grant. It's always wonderful to see local businesses flourish. I have personally seen the positive impact Kathryn's business has had in our community through several Facebook posts, and a friend who has used her service, and I wish her continued success."

Test Valley Borough Council is committed to supporting local businesses through various initiatives and grants. The Business Incentive Grant is designed to help new businesses located in Test Valley achieve their goals and contribute to the local economy. You must apply for the grant before you start your business, and the authority will award the money once you have been up and running for six months.
