£6,000 grant supports new international travel and logistics business in Andover town centre

A new international travel and logistics business in Andover town centre has received £6,000 in grant funding to help it establish a strong presence while respecting the historic character of its building.

Sarvansh GlobalLink Services Ltd moved into the vacant unit at 29 Bridge Street in November 2025. The business offers flight booking services for international individual and business travellers, alongside tailored logistics support, freight forwarding and international courier services.

The unit forms part of Bridge House, where stonework surrounds the shopfront. Keen to promote the business while avoiding a standard sign that could detract from the building’s character, owner Shekhar Gurau worked with the council to identify an alternative approach.

Sarvansh GlobalLink Services Ltd was awarded £6,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Andover town centre frontage grant to install two digital display boards within the shop windows. The displays allow the business to advertise both its travel and freight services without altering the building fabric.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Phil North said: “This project is a good example of how grant funding can be used flexibly to support new businesses while also being sensitive to the character of Andover town centre. Each application we receive is assessed on its own merits, and in this case an alternative to traditional signage was the most appropriate solution for the building.”

Business owner Shekhar Gurau added: "We are extremely grateful for the support received from Test Valley Borough Council. The funding has enabled us to promote our services in a way that respects the historic character of our premises while increasing our visibility within the town center. As a local business, we are committed to supporting the community and helping connect people and businesses through travel, logistics, and global mobility services. This support will play an important role in our continued growth in Andover and beyond."

In addition to the frontage grant, Sarvansh GlobalLink Services Ltd has also received support through the council’s Independent Retailer Grant, which helps new town centre businesses with start‑up and early operating costs.
