Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (AH SPD)
An Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been produced. This document helps decide the approach to affordable housing in the borough and replaces the previous version from 2008.
It was adopted by the Council on 2 September 2020, following a recommendation by the Council’s Cabinet on 15 July 2020. Public consultation on the SPD was held between 30 August and 11 October 2019.
The Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides advice for landowners, developers, affordable housing providers and planning agents on how the Council’s Local Plan affordable housing policies of COM7: Affordable Housing; COM8: Rural Exception Affordable Housing; and COM9: Community Led Development, of the Test Valley Borough Revised Local Plan DPD 2011 – 2029 (RLP), will be implemented.
The Affordable Housing SPD replaces the COM7 Advice Note and the application of COM7 is covered in the Affordable Housing SPD.
This document forms part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) for the area. The LDF provides the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting the borough.
