Revised Braishfield VDS SPD

The Village Design Statement for the Parish of Braishfield was adopted by the Cabinet as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) on 23 February 2021.

It records what is special about Braishfield in the view of its residents. It portrays the existing appearance and quality of its landscape, settlements and buildings by describing their features, and defining the characteristics that make them what they are. It sets out guidelines that are intended to ensure that the distinctive character of the Parish is retained, and to enhance it.

It contains guidance that arise from the description of Braishfield's local distinctiveness. The guidance is important because it focuses on conserving particular qualities of the village and to contribute towards the improvement of rural design in general.

This document now forms part of the part of the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting the area.
