Household Waste Recycling Centres

Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) are provided and operated by Hampshire County Council. They are provided for the public to dispose of any domestic waste, garden waste, recyclable materials, oil and limited amounts of rubble.

There are two HWRCs located within Test Valley:

Scott Close is the only HWRC in Test Valley that accepts cement bonded asbestos and hazardous household waste.  There will be a charge made to dispose of cement bonded asbestos.

A charge will also be made to dispose of soil, rubble and plasterboard.  These items are accepted at all HWRCs.

HWRCs offer a chargeable trade waste service for small businesses.

HWRCs are open seven days a week all year round, excluding 25 and 26 December and 1 January.  The opening times vary according to the time of year:

  • 9am - 6pm from 1 April to 30 September
  • 9am - 4pm from 1 October to 28 February
  • 9am - 5pm from 1 March to 31 March
