Sport England
Established by Royal Charter in 1996, Sport England are determined to give everyone in England the chance to benefit from sport and physical activity.
Sport England’s mission is to address inactivity and transform sport and physical activity so that people and places everywhere can benefit. Sport England do this by providing expertise, insight and funding that improves the nation’s long term physical and mental health.
Collaboration runs through everything Sport England do, partnering with thousands of organisations large and small in the traditional sport sector and beyond to help foster real change.
Sport England’s current strategy “Towards an Active Nation” is available below. This strategy is currently being reviewed with an updated strategy due to be published in 2021.
National Governing Bodies For Sport
Sport England invest in and provide a range of services to national governing bodies to encourage more people to play sport and be physically active, National Governing Bodies include The Football Association, The Lawn Tennis Association, British Cycling, and England Athletics. UK Active
UK active is a not-for-profit industry association, promoting the interests of commercial fitness gyms and community leisure centres, to improve the health of the nation by getting more people, more active, more often. UK active provides services and facilitates partnerships for a broad range of organisations, all of which support our vision and have a role to play in achieving that goal.

UK Sport
UK Sport is the nation’s high-performance sports agency, funded by the Government and The National Lottery. Our mission is to work in partnership to lead Olympic and Paralympic sport in the UK to world class success. UK Sport’s investment and strategic direction helped British sports and athletes deliver 65 Olympic and 120 Paralympic medals at London 2012 and four Olympic and six Paralympic medals at Sochi 2014.
UK Sport’s other responsibilities include bidding for and staging major sporting events, increasing sporting influence internationally, and promoting the highest standards of governance, sporting conduct, ethics and diversity in society.

UK Coaching
UK Coaching is a not for profit organisation who support all aspects of the coaching workforce, whatever you’re a coach, facilitator, instructor, leader, teacher or trainer - if you're helping people to be active and improve, UK Coaching are in place to support you. Delivering face-to-face workshops, eLearning courses and webinars equip the coaching workforce with the knowledge and skills to operate confidently and competently so that they can meet the wants, needs and dreams of the people they coach.
In addition to reaching and developing coaches UK Coaching collaborate with organisations and pool resources to make lasting improvements to coaching in the UK - from grass-roots through to elite performance levels. UK Coaching inform Government on policy that supports coaches to have a positive impact on society.
Club Matters
Club Matters is Sport England's one stop shop for sports clubs, groups and organisations involved in the delivery of physical activity and sport. Club Matters provides free, convenient, practical resources to help organisations to develop, grow, and become more sustainable and successful.
