Application Process

  1. Applications will be accepted until midnight on the closing date: Sunday 12 April 2026

  2. All applications will be sent to the recruiting manager who will review your application against the job description and person specification.
  3. If you’re successful at this stage, you may advance to a pre-selection MS Teams discussion on Wednesday 22 April.
  4. Following the MS Teams discussions, we will finalise the list of candidates to be invited to the selection stage.  If you’re successful, we will write to you inviting you to the interview day with details of what to expect. 
  5. The selection stage is scheduled for Monday 27 April:
    • This will involve a number of activities and is set up to be an engaging and interactive day where you will have an opportunity to meet a range of people the role regularly interacts with and find out more about what it is like to work at the council.  Activities are likely to include an interview, a brief presentation and group discussions where you will have an opportunity to discuss the role and council’s value led culture in more detail. Candidates will also have the opportunity to meet the team and take a short tour of the current venue.
  6. You’ll need to bring proof of your identity and right to live and work in the UK with you on Monday 27 April.
  7. We will contact all candidates following the selection stage, usually by phone to let you know the outcome.  This is done in as timely way as possible.  If you have been unsuccessful you will be offered the opportunity for feedback. 
  8. The successful candidate will be provided with a conditional offer of employment subject to the completion of necessary employment checks, including right to work checks a pre-employment medical questionnaire, written references, and confirmation of qualifications. 
  9. Once all your employment checks have been successfully completed we will contact you to arrange a suitable start date. You’ll then receive a firm offer and contract of employment. 
  10. You can ask us for feedback if you are unsuccessful at any stage of the recruitment process.
