How to complain to the Council
Situations outside the complaints process
Below are some situations that we are unable to deal with under the complaints process:
-
A request for action. This can include requesting a service for the first time or reporting a defect for the first time.
-
Matters dealt with under a separate appeal route or where a legal process is available, such as a formal appeal or review of the Council’s decision.
There are also some things we are unable to change and they are:
-
If our actions are required by law or national policy
-
If our actions were determined properly in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures. For example, planning, licensing and cabinet decisions.
